Our room was lovely, not much of a view but light and airy with all the good bathroom and a nice comfortable big bed. Breakfast menu was a good choice, it was made to order in the kitchen in front of the dining tables and was ample and tasty, It’s easy to see why it is a shoes off house. As soon as you come through the front door (directly opposite and a stones throw from the shore line) we were greeted with a beautifully decorated home with carpets that looked and felt brand new, The 2 living rooms were comfortable and spacious. It is the first place I have stayed in where the common rooms were fully used by all guests, often at the same time. It truly felt like a home away from home. We stayed for 2 nights and it’s one the few places I wished we were able to stay for longer. The owners were present at times during the day to check in on guests and make sure everything was in place. If we were travelling in this part of the world again, it would be the place I would choose every time. Congratulations to both of them for creating a multi occupancy accommodation that has such a unique and warm feeling for every guest. The only suggestion I would have is that there were one or two small armchairs in the Lighthouse room for resting and watching tv later in the evening. It was something we talked about with the owners and it would make the room perfect.

We had a fantastic stay! The room was decent, clean, specious, and comfy! Definitely love the breakfast! Darrell’s and Troy were nice, friendly, and thoughtful! Internet was good! We loved the place! Highly recommended!

The accommodations and breakfast were among the best we had in Newfoundland. The bed was certainly the most comfortable. Check in was keyless and very easy. The one thing that could be improved upon was we were sent an email the day of arrival with things to see in the area, restaurants, shops, etc, it would be more useful to have this at least 1 day earlier when we weren’t travelling. Another place had sent us those details when we booked.

Great spot to stay when visiting the western end and if your in the area make sure you check out the western brook boat tour it’s amazing and the arches is about 20 minutes north of cow head

We had a great stay at the Cow Head in the Lighthouse Room. Everything was great. We did the hike up to the lighthouse and the walk along the beach at Shallow Bay. It was great to walk along a long sandy beach in Newfoundland. Breakfast was wonderful. The hosts were friendly and provided everything.

Super comfortable king sized bed, amazing ocean front, and a great breakfast with the most delicious bacon. what more could you ask for? We got to chat with Troy a bit and get some recommendations from him- he was very helpful. The ladies who cook breakfast are stellar. This is a convenient spot for exploring Cow Head trails and doing the Western Brook Pond boat ride, as well as making trips into Rocky Harbour, 30 min or so away.

I am an airbnber since 2015 and stayed at more than 30 places and this is definite by far my favorite and best experience! Darrelle And Troy put many personal touches and I am impressed with the amount of effort they put into the property. It makes you have the experience beyond a hotel plus the comfortableness of feeling like home. The homemade breakfast was very delicious , the menu provided has many options which usually was not the case from my past experience! The instruction sheet and guidebook provided are very thoughtful and useful. We are being treated like family and friends. Location is great, no matter if you choose to go up north to St.Anthony or down to Bonne Bay, it is a great stop to stay. The room is very clean with lots of characters. The bed is very comfortable. The view outside the suite is incredible and you can feel the seabreeze right at the door! Thank you for the experience and I would bring my family back in the future!
